Holiday Personalization
The inside of the card is yours
A proverb you come back to every year. Your family's name and the year beneath it. A line you'd actually say out loud, instead of whatever the card company wrote for you. We set your words in metal type and press them into heavy paper in Kent, Connecticut — and we leave you room to add a note by hand for the people who'd want one.

Say the thing you actually mean
A printed card says "Happy Holidays" to everyone. A personalized one carries a proverb you keep coming back to, your family's sign-off with the year under it, or a line that only makes sense to the people getting it. And because we leave the rest of the interior open, you can still write a few words by hand to the friends who deserve them.
A proverb or blessing
Set in type, with room left for a handwritten note.

this one. Miss you both. — Kate
A family sign-off
Names and town — printed once and sent to your whole list.

A firm greeting
With space for the partner to add a line to each client.

Every Card Is Crafted With Tremendous Care
Most personalized holiday cards are a font dropped into a template and sent to a digital printer. Yours goes through six steps on century-old presses in our shop in Kent, Connecticut.
Every Card Is Crafted With Tremendous Care
Set from the case
The typefaces you choose from aren't a digital menu — they're cabinets of matrices in our shop, one drawer per face and size.

Your words, cast in metal
We set your message and cast each line as a solid metal slug — your greeting, in metal, ready for the press. This same Ludlow was a workhorse for the New York Daily News.

Locked up on the press
The slugs are locked into a steel frame with wooden furniture, positioned using leading to your specifications.

Ink mixed by hand
Our red is weighed out and mixed by hand to the exact Pantone formula, one small batch at a time.

Printed one card at a time
Every card is fed through a vintage press by an experienced printer. The type presses into paper heavy enough to hold the impression — run your thumb across the back and you can feel where the words are.
Proofed, folded, and packed in our shop
Before the run, we pull a proof and read it letter by letter. After it, every card is checked, folded, paired with its envelope, and wrapped in tissue. The same care that sets your type packs your box.

Ordering takes about ten minutes
Four steps on your side, and none of them need a designer, a phone call, or a file. Everything after that happens in the shop.

For firms, practices & offices
One card a year that your clients keep
A letterpress card with your firm's name set in metal type does something an email can't: it stays on the desk. If you send one greeting a year to clients and referral sources, this is the one worth spending on — and at fifty cards it costs less than most firms spend on a single lunch.
One card a year that your clients keep
Law firms
A year-end greeting to clients and referral sources, with the firm name and partners' sign-off set in type. Leave the interior open and each attorney can add a line to their own clients.
Medical & dental practices
A card that thanks patients without asking them for anything. Set your practice name and a warm line inside; staff can sign the ones they know. It reads as care, not marketing — which is exactly why it works.
Real estate, wealth & family offices
The clients you want to hear from again are the ones you already closed with. A pressed card with your name on it stays on the mantel through the holidays, next to the ones from family.
One card for the whole list
Plenty of our designs carry no religious imagery at all — winter landscapes, birds, a ship under sail, a fox on a country road — so a single card can go to every client on your list without a second thought.
Ordering for an office
Same 50-card minimum, same five business days, typically. If you need several hundred across more than one design, or want your greeting proofed by us before the run, write to info@saturnpress.us and we'll set it up for you.

50 cards minimum orderA long list is a lucky thing.
If you're sending a hundred cards this year, it means a hundred people crossed your mind. We can't write the note for you — but we can take the words you choose, set them in metal type, and press them into paper heavy enough to keep.
Sincerely yours,Saturn Press
